About

Jane Stott (Director of  Connecting Pty Ltd) is passionate about helping women realise their value in today’s society.

Jane’s diverse background has helped her prepare to facilitate the Valuing Women function.  After a hectic stint as a stockbroker in Japan and a more sedate period as wife, mother and freelance photojournalist in the US, Jane returned to Australia in 1996.

It wasn’t before long that the family company beckoned.

In November 1998, Jane joined the board of  Stott’s Correspondence College Pty Ltd and was appointed Managing Director in  March 1999.  Jane was responsible for the complete restructuring of the business, including its sale to The Open  Polytechnic of New Zealand in December 2001. Jane stayed on as CEO for another 3 years.

Jane is currently running her new company,  Connecting Pty Ltd, a company dedicated to helping people and companies connect and flourish.

Jane has played an integral part in the development of the Valuing Women luncheon series and sees it as an opportunity to help women take the time to realise their value to their businesses, their homes and society.

“I hear every day that women are too busy,  that they don’t have time for themselves and that they are prepared to accept second best.  Well, enough is enough.  It is time to turn some of those attitudes around and start saying ‘it’s ok to be you’ and take the necessary steps to realise and increase their personal value,” Ms Stott said.

“I have long believed that if you feel better about yourself, you are going to have a more positive impact on everything else you do and those around you.   That is what personal value is all about and something that we are encouraging more women to consider,” Ms Stott added.
